 Accreditation and Credentialing

At TAA, we are proud core providers for addiction counseling education in the USA, Canada, and Europe.

We have aligned and chosen some of the best non-partial credentialing offices to review our manuals, exams, and educational processes and we are pleased to offer continuing education units to assist you with keeping your current certifications and licenses in compliance. At TAA, we are an international school, and we believe you should not be confined to providing client services in a local setting. Our certifications and certifying bodies prepare you for International, National and local work.

Licensing:

Licenses are normally issued by a state or country’s government. Like certifications, they often accompany education and exam requirements and are mandatory for professionals in certain fields. Licenses may come with additional requirements, such as obtaining a minimum number of supervised work hours. Some states in the USA require a license to be an addiction counselor, most do not. In most states the IC&RC board governs, and we are credentialed in any state with IC&RC reciprocity to offer you the addiction counselor certification training.  In Canada, it is a certification through the IC&RC board. NOTE: There is no license for coaching or intervention training.

Certification:

Certifications are standardized credentials that are intended to certify someone for work in a particular industry. These may include both education and exam requirements. A certification is a terminal program that requires continuing education or renewal to keep current, it is NOT the same as a training certificate. Certifications are created by the company that offers them and accredited by independent boards that review their educational offerings and approve them according to the board’s standards. We are accredited by the largest coaching companies ACTO and ICF for all of our coaching programs. AACT accredits our Christian programs to make sure they meet their specific standards.

Certificates:

Certificates are unique to the institution where they are earned. At TAA, we offer CEU, CME and CE credits for our training and certificate programs.

Please call us at 1.800.706.0318 if you are unsure what your state or country requires.
