NEW COURSE! The Addictions Academy offers Relationship Coach training

NEW COURSE! February 18-19 The Addictions Academy offers Relationship Coach training

relationship coachRelationship, Divorce and Marriage Coaching Training

Therapists, counselors, and coaches often report that working with couples is one of the most difficult challenges. The course is designed to provide a foundation for helping with relationships issues, whether working with an individual or with a couple.

Research has shown that the quality of a person’s relationship affects their physical health, their mental health, their career success, and their substance use. Improving relationships can improve every area of life. When you help your clients build strong and healthy relationships, you are giving them the gift of better health and greater happiness in their lives.

  • Our program in relationship coaching will show professional coaches and counselors how to work with clients to break out of destructive relationship patterns, and develop strong and positive relationships in their lives. Many clients feel stuck, like they are doomed to repeat the same relationship patterns over and over again. In this course, you’ll get the tools and skills to help your clients change these patterns and heal the underlying emotional wounds. This approach helps clients break the cycle they’ve created for themselves.

This course is ideal for therapists, coaches, counselors, and addiction coaches.

A Heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Cali Estes from Donna, Founder of HART Foundation

A Heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Cali Estes from Donna, Founder of HART Foundation

Dr. Cali Estes “CARES and KNOWS” whats needed to help people to bring change into their life.

The last 2 months have been exhausting trying to figure out a positive means of reaching out to help our children and helping them to transition back into society with the option of NOT relapsing, says Donna Carmosino, the founder of HART Foundation.  I spoke to one of the most respected doctors in addiction recovery, Dr Cali Estes

The Addictions Academy has taught me the importance of having that coach alongside to help guide our loved ones into their new lives. We give them purpose and pride back. We give them a “Plan of Action”. We don’t become their new best friend, we become their Rope. That rope will challenge and embrace their life and struggles to fit into society and grow from where they have actually been. HELL.

Donna Carmosino is the mother of an addict and knows the struggles of those who fight
for the lives of their children and loved ones. Donna knows first-hand how addiction
can tear family relationships apart due to an addict's destructive behaviors.

Don’t Lose Clients. Take our Admissions Call Center Training course.

call center training

The number one goal of a detox, residential treatment center, PHP, or IOP  is to fill the beds with quality candidates that need your services. This is where most places struggle to maintain a census of appropriate candidates.  You hire marketers, developers, lead generation services, dabble in the AdWords game and spend thousands of dollars to get the phone to ring. After all that money out and hard work, a lot of clients are lost in the Admissions Call Center. Untrained staff, missed calls, admission of inappropriate candidates for your specific services, promises to clients that are unrealistic (resulting in them leaving upon arrival), not assessing for proper level of care, not understanding and assessing proper insurance coverage. This all translates into time lost and revenue lost.

At The Addictions Academy training is our passion. We have analyzed what marketing strategies work and which ones are simply a waste of time.  During our research we have learned that the Admission Call Center staff is rarely trained and consists of newly sober individuals, some having gone through the program itself. They are given a tour, shadow an individual and handed the phone. They might be hourly, salary or given a bonus to secure clients. What we have noticed is that a majority of the calls are not closed,  closed on clients that do not show up to the center, or worse yet, closed on the clients that are not a good fit for the program resulting in the client being transferred upon arrival. This creates more work for the already overtaxed staff and less generation of revenue.

We have developed a training program that crosses clinical verbiage and sales techniques to improve the closing ratio of your Admissions Call Center Team. We will analyze the systems you have in place, meet your staff, and train them on both clinical terminology and sales closing tactics.  The client’s first contact with your treatment center is your Admissions Call Center Team and if they process goes smoothly the client will arrive at your center. The relationship that is built with the client pre treatment, during admission and post admission is crucial to the success of that client and your center. A happy, sober client is worth 4-10 referrals. An unhappy client is worth 40 negative reviews. Can you stand to lose 40 potential clients in this competitive market?

Here is what The Addictions Academy can offer you, to increase your client base, fill your beads and increase client retention. Call us today at 1.800.706.0318 to schedule your free assessment of your Call Center Admissions Team and possible onsite or webinar training.

What is Fitness in Recovery and who the hell is Boris Schaak?

fitness in recovery
Fitness in Recovery Coaching is a class offered at The Addictions Academy that combines fitness elements to help people recover, fully recover, from the damage they did to their bodies and not just their mind. Talk therapy is only SO good, you need to fix the body damage and the chemistry damage you did in your addiction.
In The Addictions Academy’s Fitness in Recovery Training Program you will quickly find out that having another tool for people in recovery allows for greater and long-term success. With interactive learning and examples, you will see that having clients implement a routine of healthy eating habits and fitness will help them recover faster and healthier, with a less chance of relapse. This knowledge will empower you in your day-to-day interaction with clients, and in your own personal lives.
At The Addictions Academy, we only use the best, most influential and educated teachers for our classes.  Do you KNOW Boris? The Addictions Academy Welcomes Katie Donovan to our Faculty!

The Addictions Academy is excited to announce a new instructor to our faculty team!

Katie will be teaching our Nationally Certified Family Recovery Coach training course.

Katie“Family Recovery Coaching is where my heart and passion lie”

Katie has spent over the last 20 years in the marketing, events and communications industry. After experiencing the addiction journey with her daughter Brittany, Katie left her marketing career, in order to focus on family recovery.  She has now dedicated her life to guiding others through the overwhelming process of finding quality treatment for substance abuse, coaching families through their own recovery, and a consultant for the treatment industry.  Learn more about Katie here.

Our program in Family Recovery Coaching is comprehensive and will teach you, the professional coach, to be able to work with and assist the family during their difficult times.  As much as an addict needs a coach, so does the family, and there are currently no programs available to teach you, the professional, how to deal with the family dynamics.  Families of an addict are often confused themselves about addiction and where to turn with some of the issues that are going on within the family dynamic system.

As a Therapist or Recovery Coach, you are trained to handle the addict but often the family is left alone to deal with their issues without help. They become abandoned once the loved one enters treatment or even left to coach themselves on what to do if the loved one refuses treatment. We are proud to offer you Nationally Certified Family Coach Training. Increase your resume and make yourself more marketable to treatment centers by learning Family Recovery Coaching.

Students of The Addictions Academy are Doing Great Things in their Communities!

The Addictions ACADEMY has trained many people over the course of the past four years. They are featured in the article below for the students they have trained and the good work the students are doing across the US.
Our comprehensive Professional Recovery Coaching will teach you to prepare for difficult Recovery Coach clients and various situations. Through the process of Recovery Coaching, clients are held accountable, improve their performance, become educated on drug and alcohol addictions, and enhance their quality of life. A Recovery Coach sets the parameters of the conversation, listens and contributes observations and questions, provides a road map for success and assists the client as a team to achieving their desired goals. An action based Recovery Coach accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choices, actions, and responsibility. Recovery Coaching concentrates on meeting the client where they are now, where they want to be, and holding them accountable as a team to get there.

Hi Cali!

I just got done with the life coaching training and want you to know that Ginger was an amazing instructor for this course! She taught us skills and tools that were not covered in the material, that I feel are invaluable to having when moving forward with this profession. I look forward to and hope to work with her again soon. She demonstrated very well her life coaching skills as an instructor to us.

I learned from her directly and by watching the way she handled us as students.

I am grateful things worked out so that I could experience her knowledge and skills for this course.

Thank you,
Heidi Fredere

In Food Addiction Coaching  we will explain the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships with food, how to spot a hidden eating disorder, what the difference between dieting and lifestyle choices are and how to deal with all of them as they present in your client. We address food addictions as both part of the addictive cycle and also independent of other addictions.

For most addicts, an addiction is addiction and food is no different. They complete substance abuse treatment and then begin abusing food and foodstuffs. They may over eat, binge eat, indulge in sugar and caffeine and gain weight. At the Addictions Academy we teach you how to handle the food addiction side when the monster of drugs and alcohol is tamed. We also teach to how to handle a food addiction that is independent of other addictions. Become Certified in Food Addictions. Contact us today. 1.800.706.0318

What you will learn:

  • The differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships with food.
  • How to spot a hidden eating disorder and what to do about it.
  • The difference between dieting and lifestyle choices.
  • Sugar and connection with opiates.
  • Sugar and the connection with alcohol.
  • How to kick the sugar habit (if you want to)
  • Eating as Punishment.
  • Addictions to sugar, caffeine, and energy drinks.

Please note this is not a restrictive eating class (no diets, but good verses bad foods to eat will be addressed). We are going to address all Food Addiction issues and ways to use coping skills and mechanisms to reduce stuffing, over eating, under eating, dieting, restricting and using food as a tool to deal with stressors in life.
