NATIONALLY CERTIFIED FAMILY RECOVERY COACHING (NCFRC) AND International Certification (ICFRC)

Our comprehensive Professional Family Recovery Coach Training and Certification Program will teach you how to handle the families and loved ones of clients that are suffering from a drug and alcohol addiction. A Family Recovery Coach will educate the family on what addiction is and how it can destroy the entire family unit. A Certified Family Recovery Coach may assist with the placement of the substance use disorder client but will mostly work on codependency and enabling issues of the family. An Action-Based Family Recovery Coach will alleviate family concerns, assist in behavioral changes and accountability.

How addiction affects the family is one of the least covered and least discussed topics in the addictions industry. There is a lack of solid training that offers a clear education to understand the family unit and how the codependent enabler plays a large role in the addiction sequence. The family is the key to unlocking the addiction mystery, as most of the family need help in deciphering and understanding addiction. This course is for you to help the family. It is most needed and the least offered.

If you are an Advocate or have been on the family side of addiction and want to work with families, this is the class for you. The missing piece of treatment is assisting the families and helping them heal and gain strength as a unit to assist their loved ones in healing as well. There is NO prerequisite to becoming a Certified Family Recovery Coach, no need for a degree or any other training, as our programs include everything you need to get your Certification as a Family Recovery Coach.

NOTE: There are NO prerequisites to this course.  You receive both National and International Credentials, Also included is  Relapse Prevention Training, an ethics class, and 10 hours of master coach supervision. We do offer Job Board, Networking, and Business/Private Practice assistance. We also hire from within once you are trained, certified, insured, and bonded.

Frequently Asked Questions About Family Recovery Coaching

Right now it seems heroin has taken over but there are different addictions that can be debilitating including gaming, gambling and even sex addiction. We touch on all of them in this class and how to combat them as a team within the family unit.

A family recovery coach will work with the loved ones of a drug or alcohol addict. This can be the mother, father, wife, husband or even children depending on the family situation. They should be certified, insured and educated on how to deal with specific issues relating to the family including enabling, codependency, family dynamics (specifically Claudia Black’s work) and how to combat these behaviors in the family.

There are only 2 programs to chose from to get certified as a family recovery coach. The BALM method with Bev Buncher and the Nationally Certified Recovery Coach Training Program with Relapse Prevention components with Dr. Cali Estes and The Addictions Academy. Each is different and covers different topics but both focus on the family unit as a whole.

A Certified Professional Family Recovery Coach offers a form of strength-based support that includes intensive work within these areas: Understanding Accountability, Behavioral Change, Codependency, Enabling, Action Planning, Family Relationships, Coping Skills, Triggers, Addiction Education, Self-Care, Boundary Setting, and more.
