Certified Recovery Coach

NATIONALLY CERTIFIED RECOVERY COACH™ TRAINING LEVELS I AND II (NCRC I AND NCRC II)

Our comprehensive Professional Recovery Coach Certification and Training Program will teach you how to handle clients that are looking for help from drug addiction and alcohol addiction. A Recovery Coach’s function is to assist a client with Substance Use Disorder in finding the appropriate path to sobriety. A Recovery Coach sets the parameters of the conversation, listens and contributes observations and questions, provides a roadmap for success, and assists the client as a team to achieve their desired goals. An action-based Recovery Coach accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choices, actions, and responsibility.

Recovery Coaching concentrates on meeting the client where they are now, where they want to be, and holding them accountable as a team to get there.  A professional coaching certification will enhance your marketability and allow you to offer your clients the best services possible. We are the global leader in addiction recovery coach training and certification and the only Recovery Coach Academy to offer two levels of recovery coach training.

Our Professional Recovery Coach Certification follows the International Coach Federation (ICF) 11 Core Competencies of Coaching (we are CCE Accredited) and in this class, you will learn Motivational Interviewing skills, Life Coaching skills, Life Skills, Coping Skills, Defense Mechanisms, Active vs. Passive Listening, ethics, legal issues, and more. Our exclusive Recovery Coach  Level II includes the Stages of Change, DSM 5 and mental health information, drugs, the criminal client, the wealthy client, and more.

NOTE: There are NO prerequisites to this course and both levels I and II come together in the training and certification packages. Also included is an ethics class and 10 hours of coach mentorship. We do offer Job Board, Networking, and Business/Private Practice assistance. We also hire from within once you are trained, certified, insured, and bonded.

Frequently Asked Questions About Recovery Coaches

A recovery coach, also known as a sober coach is a generic term that covers many different roles. A recovery coach provides invaluable support for people who are struggling through their compulsive, obsessive and destructive behaviors fueled by the cycle of addiction.

The salary of a recovery coach will depend on this state that they are in and if they are currently working for a treatment center or they are in private practice. Usually working for a treatment center can range between 15 and $25 per hour for a recovery coach. Coaches that are hired by the state that are going into hospitals and placing people in treatment generally make $75-$100 per hour. Recovery coaches in private practice can charge anywhere from $125-$350 per hour.

What exactly does a Recovery Coach do with their clients suffering from a drug and alcohol addiction? A Certified Professional Recovery Coach offers a form of strength-based support that includes intensive work within these areas: Accountability, Behavioral Change, Action Planning, Family Relationships, Coping Skills, Triggers, Purpose and Passion, Job and Career, Financial and more. The emphasis is on a client learning how to be productive and handle different aspects of life that may have been damaged by their addictions.

Anyone that is looking for a great career to assist others in finding their purpose and passion in life, getting and staying sober is an ideal coach candidate. Also an ideal career for someone that is an advocate or in recovery and wants to assist others.
