Mary T. Curtis
Mary T. Curtis is an International Facilitator, Counselor and Consultant with a passion for the development of people and organizations. Drawing on her learning & development acumen, behavioral health expertise, and The Second City Improv training, Mary delivers dynamic experiential learning programs and systemic-focused consulting. Known for her Irish charm, authentic presence and passionate energy; she has an uncanny ability to engage and motivate individuals to take risks, move into action and reach their maximum potential.
Mary was born in Ireland, where she worked as an administrator in local government by day and performed in many of Dublin’s finest theatres at night. In 1994 she settled in Chicago. There she was the National Marketing and Operations Director for Jones Lang LaSalle Development. Also in Chicago, she studied theatrical improvisation and graduated from “Second City Conservatory Program.” Mary noticed a remarkable correlation between the principles of improv and the skill-set required to effectively communicate and collaborate in the workplace. Leveraging “improv techniques,” she pioneered and delivered innovative experiential programs resulting in enhanced performance improvement throughout the organization.
Mary later relocated to Florida, where she added another facet to her ever growing skill-set as she moved into the Behavioral Health field. She became a Certified Meyers-Briggs practitioner and an International Certified Addictions Counselor. As a “big picture thinker” she has positively impacted many behavioral health professionals and organizations: from professional development programs and leadership coaching, to reducing ACA rates, employee trainings and creating HR systems. In addition she has consulted with start-up facilities on organizational development issues.
Mary is also a sought-after facilitator and consultant in the corporate and non-profit sectors. She has custom-built experiential programs and consulted with clients such as: The City of Fort Meyers, Nova Southeastern University, Allstate Management Headquarters in Chicago, The Leadership Broward Foundation, and The Florida Bar.
