How to become an Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional

Advanced Clinical Intervention Professionals – All You Need to Know!

So – you want to become an advanced clinical intervention professional! First and foremost, this is a career path that you should most definitely feel proud of pursuing. It directly helps people in very real need, it teaches some valuable skills, and may leave you feeling more prepared to engage with conflict, resolution, and scenarios similar even outside of interventions.

However, it’s important to note that this is not an exploration and explanation of intervention professionals, but instead specifically about advanced clinical intervention professionals. While their names may be similar, there are in fact differences between the two. To keep it brief, an advanced intervention professional is better suited for different clients and can generally be classified as more qualified than the average intervention professional.

Advanced intervention professionals often have clientele that are just an individual, families, or businesses, (C-Suite, or executives). The training for these clients will be covered coming up ahead, but the most important takeaway is that the advanced course essentially grants higher qualifications.

How to Become an Interventionist, or an Advanced Intervention Professional

As is the case for becoming an intervention professional, the best place to go is The Addictions Academy. They’re the leading provider of certifications for a vast number of positions, whether it be this one, sober coaching, sober companions, life coaches – all things addiction treatment.

This Advanced Intervention Professional Certification and Professional Training Program covers Individual, Family and Business Interventions on an in-depth level. The Academy teaches you tips and tricks to complete the interventions in 5-8 hours max from the time you step out of the car or off the plane. Don’t worry, most work is done without ever leaving your home or office if that’s a concern! This class assists you in becoming an addiction intervention expert.  The Exclusive RAAD model focuses on body language, client placement, meeting the client at their level, and proper placement for continuum care. The 15 types of clients are covered as well as Mock Interventions.

The program also covers drug and alcohol, sex addiction, mental health, food addiction, and more within an in-depth training regimen that takes about three days. This includes case management and 10 hours of intervention supervision/mentorship. The course has no prerequisites, (the normal intervention professional class included), and offers a glimpse into the various models as well as their strengths and weaknesses. That on top of various handouts, guides, reading, and mentorship equip each up-and-coming advanced clinical intervention professional with enough versatility to handle interventions with ease.

The teacher/host for this course is Cali Estes, The Addictions Coach. Not only is she highly acclaimed, and featured in programs galore, but she also founded The Addictions Coach, a sister company to The Addictions Academy that hires from within, offering a direct pipeline into immediate work in your chosen field.

However, even outside of that, once you graduate from the course, if you wanted to be an independent worker, that can be arranged. With the certification under your belt, you’re much more marketable and appealing to those in search of truly qualified intervention professionals.

Why You Should Be an Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional

Becoming an advanced intervention professional means getting to those who may not be able to receive it otherwise. People are busy, understandably, and confronting their issues is often the last item on the bucket list. This is true for clients no matter the income, but it often requires some versatility in approach. When it comes to executives, their reasoning may be related to workload or the “look” of it all. A surprising amount of individuals in positions of power shudder at the possibility of being seen at rehab.

Others may be afraid to seek help for fear of stepping away from a job for too long due to the potential loss of necessary income or maybe they have friends or family they wouldn’t want to leave behind. It would be your duty as an advanced clinical intervention professional to help these people address their issues. Not only forcing them to confront the potential rifts in relationships or affect on their work or social life but offering solutions that can better suit their needs.

Finding a sober coach, sober companion, life coach – there are so many options out there that people are painfully unaware of and it can be a lifesaver to present them with options galore. That combined with the collective effort of close ones, co-workers, and just generally those who care deeply for this person can make a substantial difference.

Even outside of making a difference, there are skills that come with the profession. Better listening skills, careful wording, being swift and effective with communication, and various marketing strategies related to making a name for yourself in the profession. Becoming an ACIP means growing as an individual and gaining the ability to confront conflict in one’s life in a healthier way.

How much does an Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional make?

In any case, while the job may be uplifting, it’s hard to find motivation if you’re just working for free. So – this can only lead to one question – how much does an advanced clinical intervention professional make? Well, as always, it depends on whom you ask and where they work.

Glassdoor cites an estimated pay of around $147,000 per year on the high end in the United States and approximately $100,000 otherwise. This would all be under the assumption the individual is hired by a hospital or clinical office.

Other estimates claim $75,000 is closer to the true average, and while shy from the original Glassdoor numbers, these are still hefty incomes to consider when thinking of Advanced Clinical Interventions as a possible career path. It’s also important to consider that these estimates also vary drastically dependent on qualifications! So – if you have a certification in the area it’s incredibly helpful, and a degree can only help, but ultimately there are technically no requirements for the position.

If you’re interested in becoming NCACIP, it’s highly recommended that you visit the Addictions Academy and jump above the rest with a certification that adds some serious credibility to your name!
