Don Prince is a former firefighter, officer and ex-chief of the Brookhaven FD, LI, NY where he served sixteen years. He was also a first responder who served at ground zero during the aftermath of the attacks on the WTC on 9-11.
Don is also a person in long term recovery from alcohol addiction from which he suffered with for most of his adult life. He is dedicated to helping other public safety professionals whenever possible to get the best possible care to overcome the same struggle that he is very familiar with.
Don is a Nationally Certified Recovery Coach (NCRC1) and Nationally Certified Addiction Intervention Professional (NCAIP).
Don is an ambassador to the HOW Foundation which provides assistance to veterans and first responders with traumatic brain injuries and or PTSD to receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy. He is also a member of the Sweeney Alliance which is a 501c(3) foundation that promotes education and awareness for mental health issues and resiliency training as well as providing assistance to first responders who are struggling with addiction and other mental health concerns.
