Maria Trantino obtained her BA in Psychology from St. John’s University and has an extensive background in education. She spent most of her career working with various non-profit organizations doing both hands-on work with clients and training agency employees. Maria is passionate about helping people and loves to teach and train on areas of her expertise.
In June of 2011, Maria entered a rehab for an ongoing addiction to alcohol and cocaine. She spent four months in the treatment facility learning as much as she could about addiction. In 2013, Maria decided to obtain her CASAC-T and began working in the field of addiction as a counselor. Over the years, Maria has visited and been invited to countless rehab facilities as a keynote speaker and educator on the topic of addiction.
In order to further help people battling with addiction, she became a Nationally Certified Recovery Coach and Family Coach through the Addictions Academy and will now be a facilitator for the NCRC live courses being held in the Northeast Region.
