Do I need a degree or license to take your courses?

No. While many of our students hold degrees or licenses in counseling, social work, or psychology, they are not required to begin. Our programs are structured to provide both entry-level training and advanced credentials for licensed professionals seeking continuing education.

How are TAA courses delivered?

Our certifications are offered in three formats: live virtual classroom, self-paced online study, and in-person intensives. All options include full access to course materials, exams, and certification. Live classes have scheduled times. Self-study courses allow you to progress at your own pace, with no fixed schedule.

How will this certification help my career?

Graduates use their training to launch private practices, advance in treatment centers, add specialized credentials to their résumé, or become faculty and trainers themselves. Our alumni network spans over 60,000 professionals in 40 countries, many of whom credit TAA as the foundation of their career growth.

How do I know which certification or training is right for me?

If you're unsure, our admissions team can help you identify the program that best aligns with your goals—whether you’re starting a private practice, working in treatment, or pursuing advanced credentials.

What is included in the program fee?

Your tuition covers all materials, applicable exams, and certificate/certification. There are no additional fees or hidden costs.

What kind of career can I have after completing this program?

Graduates work in private practice, treatment centers, detox facilities, nonprofit recovery organizations, hospitals, courts, and more. Some become counselors within community programs, while others go on to open their own practice. We even have contractor opportunities through The Addictions Academy for qualified grads

How quickly can I begin practicing?

Most students are ready to work with clients as soon as they complete their training and receive certification. For those pursuing licensure or board exams, our programs provide the academic hours and preparation needed to sit for professional boards.

Do people really pay for these services?

Yes. Coaching is a professional service that many people will pay for. We've seen students recoup their tuition with their first paying client. We also provide business training to ensure you know how to set fees, build a practice, and market your services with confidence.

Can I earn continuing education credits (CEUs/CME/CE/Hrs)?

Yes. Many of our programs provide CEUs/CME/CE/Hrs through national and international boards. These hours can be applied toward professional requirements where accepted.

What do I receive upon completion?

Graduates receive a digital and printable certificate of completion with an official seal or a nationally accredited certification. Advanced programs also qualify for the national board exams. Digital certificates are issued immediately upon successful completion. Printed copies can be requested for professional display. Each program has its own official certificate with the TAA seal, program name, and accreditation details.
